Hot on the heels of Henri’s “Boogie Till I Die” album, which spent 15 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of Roots Music Report Blues Chart, comes “Blues Piano Grooves”, a continuation of the piano journey that began in the UK and took Henri all over the world from pubs and bars in London, performing on The Letterman Show with Jim Jones Revue and eventually to performing for The Royal Family of Monaco at Nice Opera in November last year.

Blues Piano Grooves, the new solo piano album from Henri Herbert, is a classic piano blues record, a love letter to the greats that inspired him.

This album combines new originals with re-imaginings of classic blues from John Lee Hooker and Son House, converted from guitar classics into piano stompers. Herbert continues to experiment with the form and push the boundaries of boogie piano while also paying deep respect to the greats such as Hoagy Carmichael and George Gershwin with classy renditions of “Summertime” and “Stardust”. "You look at guys like Hoagy Carmichael, John Lee Hooker, Ray..

all created their own musical universes that stood alongside each other. It's that rhythmic pulse that I find exciting. I want to take it back to its roots but keep exploring."

Across its 10 tracks, the album taps into an array of atmospheres from pile-driving boogie to straight-up blues, barroom laments and beautiful jazz ballads, tapping into the very roots of American music. Herbert's soul and passion for the music are undiminished as he continues his quest to bring boogie piano to the masses.
